[기자의눈] 이재명, 트럼프 대통령과 정말 만났나?

이재명 한국 대통령이 지난 22일 뉴욕에서 도널드 트럼프 대통령과 회담을 가졌다고 발표한 청와대측 주장에 의혹을 제기하는 눈초리가 매섭다.
청와대는 두 정상간의 만남이 있었다며 여러 장의 사진을 홈페이지에 공개하고, 보도자료를 배포했다.
연합뉴스는 백악관에 직접 문의해 "짧은 만남(a brief meeting)"이 있었다는 답변을 받았다고 보도했다.

이 일정표에는 이재명과의 만남은 아예 빠져있다. 즉, 트럼프 대통령은 이재명과 만날 계획이 전혀 없었던 것이다.
청와대는 이재명과 트럼프의 만남이 오후 7시20분부터 7시50분까지 30분간 있었다고 밝혔다.
예정된 일정표에 따르면, 오후 7시40분에 트럼프 대통령은 베네수엘라의 로드리게즈 대통령 대행과 회담을 가질 계획이었다.
청와대 발표와 백악관의 일정계획표가 충돌하는 지점이다.
청와대가 공개한 사진들은 로드리게즈와의 만남과 똑같은 장소와 세팅에서 이뤄진 것임을 확인할 수 있다.
결국, 이재명이 트럼프 대통령과 만나기는 했으나 비공식 비공개의 짧은 만남이었다는 점이 확인되는 셈이다.
대통령 국정 지지율을 올리기 위해 혈안이 되어 있는 한국 정부가 무리하게 언론을 동원해 오도하고 있다는 지적을 피하기 어려워 보인다.
이재명 개인의 절박함이 대한민국의 국격을 무너뜨리고 있다.
